1. Icy Niagara Falls
Does this look like it's cold? You bet it was freezing! The Canadian Horseshoe Falls still thunder down even in winter but the experience certainly is something else: Mist immediately freezes whatever it touches and formes beautiful accumulations of thick ice. The tunnels behind the falls exit at this little viewing balcony visible below, with other tunnel exits leading right behind the thundering falls. While not nearly as spectacular as the Victoria Falls in Zambia/Zimbabwe and the Iguazu Falls in Argentina/Brazil, the Niagara Falls certainly hold the distinction of being the most touristy of them all.
