While some places may technically not qualify as a country, they are considered to be so remote and different in terms of culture, history and heritage that they are treated as one. For the lucky few touching down in Hanga Roa this becomes apparent as a mystical feeling of solitude. This only village on the island is thought to be the spot on earth furthest away from any other populated areas. Fortunately, they stamp the passport to prove it.
