In two stages, passengers are whisked via an intermediate mountain to the top of Rio de Janeiro's landmark, all without any supporting masts in between. Those with a fear of heights better don't apply, as the views during the ride are as spectacular as they are on the top. Best of all, the last gondolas leave the top station rather late at night, so it is possible to watch once-in-a-lifetime sunsets behind the city skyline and its numerous famous beaches.
