1. Cockpit Ride
Still can't believe it worked. I whipped out my FAA Pilot License and the captain allowed me to join him in the cockpit of this Saab 340 en route to my Number 1 island in the entire South Pacific, the Aitutaki atoll with its gigantic lagoon, about an hour north of Rarotonga, Cook Islands. Now from there you have a view when approaching the outer reefs... that's how I spotted my sand bank off One Foot Island, the famous motu in the southern part of the lagoon.

2. Time Travel
From Tonga (UTC+13) to Samoa (UTC-12), minus 25 hours plus 1.5 hours flight time, less one day plus half an hour at arrival - did you get there?
3. Blomsterang
By pure coincidence, I flew 4 times with this particular Boeing 767-300ER on totally unrelated trips. NBO-SEZ, SEZ-NBO, DAR-LHR, LHR-TLV.
4. One of Two
The King does have an airline... with one long-distance and two smaller planes! This is how I got stuck on the Ha'apai island group.
5. Lifeline
This shuttle taxi, a Bell 222, is the only connection from Angmagssalik (Tassilaq) to Kulusuk and with the rest of the Greenland.

Pacific islands are connected to the rest of the world by transpac flights stopping over on their way at ungodly night hours, like here on Samoa at 2:30am.
